Is there the way to reduce alarm duration on my Samsung SGH-a237 phone?

Just bought the new samsung sgh-a237 phones, trying to figur out setting alarms on a237 device, and i can do it now.. but the alarm goes off for one minute continuously.

But i can not find a way to shorten the arlarm duration time, so anyone of you knowing this tips? Please shared with me, Thought there might be some secret tips and tricks out there. Thanks!

Tip #1: Sending Personal Email

To send and receive email (after initial setup), press the Messaging key on the lower right-hand side of the keyboard. Then select the appropriate email provider, press Menu, then New. Compose the message and press Send.

Tip #4: Download AT&T Navigator

AT&T Navigator is a pre-loaded application with a designated icon that requires installation, and can be installed in just a couple of steps. From the home screen, press Start, then press the AT&T Navigator icon. After the download has completed, the user will be prompted to enter their mobile phone number, name, and AT&T Navigator PIN, which will arrive via SMS after download.

Tip #5: Turning Wi-Fi On

The Wi-Fi default is Off. To turn this function On from the home screen, press the Power/Quick List button on the upper left-hand side of the phone. Select Wireless Manager > Wi-Fi > On > Done.

Tip #6: Task Manager Shortcut

Press and hold the Home key to launch the Task Manager in one step.

Tip #7: Activating the Airplane Mode

From the Home screen, press the left soft key for the Start menu. Press the left soft key for More. Choose Internet Explorer > Menu > Address Bar. Type the desired URL and press the Go soft key.

Tip #10: Receiving and Replying to a Threaded Text Message

On the home screen, press the left soft key for the Start menu, then Messaging – or press the Messaging key. Scroll to a message, select it, enter your message, and press Send. To end the conversation, press the right soft key for Menu, then Close.

Tip #11: Changing Backlight Settings

Users can adjust the backlight settings to set the amount of time the backlight stays illuminated. To change backlight settings, press the left soft key to enter the Start menu. Scroll to Settings. Select More > Power Management. Scroll down to Display Time Out or Backlight Time Out on Battery. Press the Navigation key left or right to change settings and then press Done.

Tip #12: Save an Existing Contact to SIM

To save an existing contact to the SIM card from the home screen, press the right soft key for Contacts. Highlight the contact to be saved and press the center of the Navigation key to select. Press the right soft key for Menu, select Save to SIM, and press the left soft key for Done.

Tip #13: Ending a Video Share Call

Users can end streaming video on a Video Share call in progress and go back to a standard phone call by pressing the Stop icon. To disconnect, press the END key twice.

Tip #14: Add a Contact

To add a Contact from the home screen, press the right soft key to enter the Contacts menu, then the left soft key for New. Choose where the contact is to be saved by selecting either SIM Contact or Outlook Contact. Enter the contact information and then select the left soft key for Done.

Tip #1: Quick Activation of Silent Mode

If you need to change your phone quickly from ring to silent mode, slide open the QWERTY keypad. Press the Space Bar key down until the phone vibrates and confirms “Silent Profile On.”
To turn the ringer back on, press and hold the same key until the message “Normal Profile On” appears on the screen.

Tip #2: Calibrating the Screen

Most touchscreen phones need to be calibrated from time to time to make sure screen sensitivity is working at the optimum levels. Go to Menu > Settings > Phone > Calibration. Touch the center of the target with your finger or optional stylus. This will be done several times. Once complete, save the new settings.

Tip #3: Using Voice Response to Get Directions

To get directions using voice response, touch AT&T GPS > AT&T Navigator > Drive to > Address > OK, then speak the address. The voice response unit will translate the address to text for you and provide both visual and audible directions.

Mobile Web allows you to create shortcuts to frequently accessed online content. From the web page, select the content you want added as a shortcut or bookmark. Tip #6: Pairing the Samsung Flight with Another Bluetooth Device

To pair the phone with a compatible Bluetooth device, first make sure the Samsung Flight is in discovery mode. To do this, go to Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Bluetooth > Visible > Yes. Once Bluetooth discovery is enabled, select Search to find compatible devices. Select the device and enter the required passkey, and press OK.

Tip #7: Making Your Own Ringtones

To make your own ringtones for the phone, go to Menu > AT&T Music > Make-UR-Tones to create personalized ringtones from full-track songs. Follow the screen prompts to purchase a song, and exit the browser and follow the screen prompts to edit the song. Touch the Get the UR Tones banner to download the customized ringtone to your handset.

Tip #8: Watching and Pausing AT&T Mobile Video

While watching videos through AT&T Mobile Video, users can stop watching the video, pause, and then begin watching it again without having to start from the beginning. This can be done through the Jump to Track Time feature.

The Jump to Track Time feature pauses the video, and presents a pop-up screen that lets users enter the amount of time in the video to “jump ahead.”
Press the Options soft key.
Select Jump to Track Time.
Use the keypad to enter a value for the hour, minute, and second that corresponds to the video’s timeline.
Press the Jump soft key to restart the video at the designated time.

Tip #9: Utilizing the Multitasking Feature

Users can listen to music while accessing other applications through the multitasking feature. To activate, first press the Shortcut key on the left side of the phone to access the music player. Press Settings and then turn Background Playing to On and then Save.

Select music from the play list. Once the music starts playing, press Minimize to close the music player screen and access other features on the phone.

Tip #10: Using Voice Recognition to Dial

To use Voice Recognition to dial contacts, touch Menu > My Stuff > Tools > Voice Recognition. Nuance Voice Recognition prompts with the “Say a Command” screen. At the bottom of the screen, touch “Tutorial” for brief audio instructions of how to use Voice Recognition to place calls, if needed, as well as to access other commands.

Tip #1: Adjusting Vibration Feedback

To adjust the intensity of vibration on the touchscreen, go to Menu > Settings > Phone > Vibration Feedback; then adjust the sliding scale preference and press Save.

Tip #2: Calibrating the Touchscreen

If the phone is not responding properly when using the touchscreen, it may need to be recalibrated in order to maximize touch accuracy. To do so, go to Menu > Settings > Phone > Calibration.

Touch the center of each target and repeat this step for all four targets displayed. The new setting will be saved. Tap the screen to exit.

Tip #3: Using the Multitask Key

Use the Multitask shortcut key located on the middle right-hand side of the phone to launch the multitask menu and gain access to some of the most commonly used features, such as Call, Messaging, Mobile Web, Music Player, and Games. It can also be used to end all running features.

Tip #4: Activate Bluetooth

To bookmark a favorite web page, go to the favorite website to be added via the browser. Once on the web page, touch the Favorites icon on the bottom left-hand side of the screen. It will take the user to the “Add to Favorites” screen, and will prompt them to Add the URL. Select Save at the bottom of the screen to add the page as a bookmark.

Tip #6: Setting Sound Profiles

The Solstice comes with four sound profiles – Normal, Silent, Driving, and Outdoor. To change the sound profile, touch the Speaker widget on the Widget Bar, then the desired profile, and Save. It can also be accessed by going to Menu > Settings > Sound Profile.

Tip #7: Taking Panorama Shots

Panorama shots are perfect for vacation photos. While in Camera mode, touch the Shooting Mode icon, and then Panorama. Take three shots from right to left, and the phone does the rest.

Tip #8: How to Zoom

Using the Zoom feature with the Camera or Camcorder is a snap. While in Camera or Camcorder mode, use the Volume key on the left-hand side of the phone to zoom in and out to get that close-up shot.

Tip #9: Adding Media and Sound to Messages

To add a picture, video, audio clip, or website link within a text message, finish typing the message and press OK. Select Insert at the bottom of the screen. Choose from Picture, Video, Audio, Templates, Take Picture, Record Video, Record Audio, Favorite URL, or Contact Info. Make the selection and follow the prompts. Press Send.

Tip #10: Photo Favorite Widget

The Photo Favorite Widget enables users to see photos of their favorite contacts, rather than just seeing a list of names. The widget holds up to seven photo favorites.
